Since Update 0.12.1, Slimes drop Slimeballs and produce Slime particles.Due to their ability to split into small Slimes when damaged, large and medium sized Slimes do not die from fall damage, no matter how high they fall.As of Update 0.10.0, Slimes spawn more frequently.If the Player places a Name Tag on a large or medium Slime, when it is killed, all the smaller Slimes it splits into will have the Name Tag.Bug: A mistake was made in the spawning mechanics for the Slime and the Ghast, in which they couldn't spawn at all.As the smallest slimes have only one Health Point, it is recommended to use your fist to kill them to save the durability of your sword. However, smaller Slimes can easily be dealt with a Sword. Large Slimes should be attacked with a Bow as their melee attack is considerably damaging. However, the smallest Slimes cannot damage the Player. Upon dying, they will split into multiple Slimes of smaller size, unless already at the smallest possible size, which is smaller than a Block. Slimes randomly jump around when idle, however, if the Player is within a 16-block radius, they attack by jumping towards the Player, doing damage proportional on their size. They spawn more frequently during a full Moon, and never spawn during a new Moon.
Slimes spawn in random underground chunks below Y=39 at any light level, and can also spawn in Swamp Biomes at night depending on the phase of the Moon.
